Museum Showcase Weekend 2025 - Dining à la Zephyr Saturday and Sunday, September 20th and 21st, start off your day at the museum with breakfast aboard the Nebraska Zephyr. Our 100% volunteer crew has crafted a menu that is sure to make your experience delightful. As with all meals aboard the Zephyr, the food is fully prepared and cooked aboard the train in the original galley of the dining car Ceres. Breakfast will start with fresh donuts and muffins followed by a yogurt parfait with fresh blueberries and strawberries. The main course offers your choice of a Denver, vegetarian, or ham-and-cheese omelette served with potatoes, bacon, and silver-dollar pancakes followed by dessert. A selection of beverages are included. Trips will be offered at 11:00am on Saturday and Sunday, September 20th and 21st, 2025. The cost per person is $75 (does not include Museum admission). Proceeds benefit maintenance and restoration work on the Nebraska Zephyr. The train will board at the East Union Depot. Please arrive at the museum no later than 10:00am the day of your trip. Dining on the Zephyr Join us Friday, September 19th, 2025 for a special dinner trip aboard the Nebraska Zephyr. Board the Zephyr at the East Union Depot at 5:20 PM for an evening of fine food and travel as experienced during the golden age of railroading. Your 100-percent volunteer staff prepares and cooks everything aboard the train. The evening's menu will begin with deviled eggs followed by a garden salad. The entree will be chicken breast with white wine sauce, wild rice, and asparagus. We will conclude with apple squares with ice cream. The dress code for the evening is formal attire. Passengers are welcome to bring aboard a bottle of wine which our waiters will be happy to serve to you. The price per person is $140. The train will board at the East Union Depot at 5:20 PM for a 5:30 PM departure. Riders should arrive at the Museum by 5:00 PM. The Museum is closed on this date, so no admission/entry fee will be collected. The Zephyr dining car crew looks forward to serving you.
