Fall Colors Express

The Illinois Railway Museum and the Chicago Transit Authority are running three "Fall Colors Express" excursion trips on the CTA on Saturday, November 1, 2025. These excursions are a fundraiser to support the future acquisition and preservation of 2600-series CTA rapid transit cars. Everyone is welcome, including volunteers, museum members, and non-members.

Departure Times: 11:20am, 1:40pm, and 4:30pm from the Dempster-Skokie Yellow Line Station, 5001 Dempster Street, Skokie. Riders should arrive at least 15 minutes before their trip departure time. Parking is available in the Park and Ride lots for a small fee.

Fare: $65.00 per person, per trip (in advance). If any tickets remain on the day of the trip, the same-day fare will be $65.00. All sales are final.

Photography is welcome, but please no tripods. Food and drinks are not permitted aboard the excursion train. Restroom breaks are not planned for these trips, so please plan accordingly. The cars being used predate ADA guidelines, so riders must be able to pass through a 21' wide doorway to enter the cars.
